6.4=Make Out: The Movie

Some things never get old. Paramount among those things might be Gary Wilson’s stone classic track “6.4=Make Out”, from the equally classic 1977 LP You Think You Really Know Me.

Gary recently threw a video for the track up on Youtube, consisting of some killer vintage footage of him and Blind Dates bandmate Vince Rossi (the film is by fellow Blind Date Frank Roma, name-dropped in the 2004 track “Gary Saw Linda Last Night“). As much as it’s fun to close your eyes and enter your own world with this track, I have to admit that this is an excellent visual compliment.

Dustin Krcatovich is a cartoonist, writer, designer, founder of FM DUST, and a collector of certain curios and ephemera (with a focus on 20th century "junk culture"). His writing and illustration work appears frequently in The Quietus, Tiny Mix Tapes, and Esquire's Culture Blog.
